WHAT? Ellen DeGeneres To Be Replaced On Her Own Talk Show? Truth Revealed
While Ellen DeGeneres extended her contract for her talk show for three years, there had been reports of her considering Neil Patrick Harris, Chrissy Teigen among others as replacement hosts. Gossip Cop has debunked these reports time and again, read on!
The Ellen DeGeneres Show began in the year 2003, and it has now been 17 years and fans can’t get enough of the show. Ellen DeGeneres’ hit talk show has won 17 People’s Choice Awards, and fans love seeing Ellen as the host and wouldn’t have it any other way. While it was on May 21, 2019 that the host announced that she had extended her contract for the talk show for three more years. However, there had been rumours before about Ellen considering Neil Patrick Harris, Chrissy Teigen among others as replacement hosts. How much truth is there to these reports?
Well, Gossip Cop has time and again debunked these reports, right from 2018 when reports started surfacing. In 2018, RadarOnline had stated that Mario Lopez was ‘gunning’ for Ellen’s position as host, as he had also filled in for her before while she was on a vacation. However, Gossip Cop had reached out to Lopez’s rep who informed that he wouldn’t ‘gun’ for anyone’s job. Later in March 2019, Life & Style had claimed that Ellen was retiring after her wife urged her, and was considering Neil Patrick Harris, Chrissy Teigen, and Ellie Kemper as replacement hosts. That is also when Gossip Cop called the reports untrue after a source assured that Ellen had no plans to retire.
Perez Hilton had also claimed that Ellen DeGeneres had been deciding between Katy Perry, Mario Lopez, Sam Hayes as a replacement. But Gossip Cop checked in with sources and was told this report is untrue and Ellen in fact will most likely renew her contract.
And she did. In May 2019, Ellen DeGeneres had announced to the audience at her show that she would be hosting the show for three more years. “Mostly because I love doing it so much every day but also because that takes me to the end of my car lease,” she added.
